Faith Farm is a production and teaching garden for Loaves & Fishes of NW OK. Through a commitment to increase the access of healthy food to low-income families in our area, one way we achieve this mission is by growing our own produce. Starting with 10 raised beds in the spring of 2013, volunteer gardeners were able to grow about 600 pounds of fresh produce. Loaves and Fishes was given the opportunity to lease Faith Farm, an existing garden, from Hope Outreach in 2014. This tripled the amount of usable garden space and increased the amount of produce grown. We harvest an average of 3,200 pounds of fresh produce and herbs each year. Community members and clients of the food pantry are encouraged to sign up for gardening classes where they learn what vegetables grow best in our climate and how to grow food in their home gardens.
