Volunteer

We know that the health crisis will have a long-term effect on employment, poverty, and hunger in our community. This is not a challenge that the Loaves & Fishes can tackle alone. Interested in helping? Volunteer!
To ensure social distancing, we can accommodate volunteers in groups of 10 people maximum for any on-site, in-person project. These volunteer opportunities are open to new and veteran volunteers.

When it comes to volunteering and service, your personality and your strengths play a major role in the types of activities you’ll enjoy most. We currently average over 100 active volunteers giving over 1,000 hours each month. INDIVIDUALS: Volunteers must be 16 or older to volunteer unaccompanied, while children 13+ must be accompanied by an adult. Students from middle and high school are welcome to complete any school-required service hours. COURT MANDATED COMMUNITY SERVICE: Loaves and Fishes accepts court mandated service hours, but ONLY misdemeanor offenses will be considered eligible, and additional documentation must be provided. Loaves and Fishes will verify the information while your application is being considered. Failure to provide any of the required information will result in immediate disqualification of your volunteer application. No assault, battery, abuse, prostitution, child endangerment, or felony cases will be accepted. Group or family opportunities available upon request. Please contact our volunteer coordinator at 580-540-9830 or melanie@loavesandfishesnwok.org. |
